Millennial generation(also known as "New generation employees",who were born from 1982 to 2000)have become the main workforce.As their work values have an impact on job performance,they generally affect the development of enterprises.Vietnam,as a developing country,is building and improving infrastructure,so the demand for employees is also getting higher and higher.If an enterprise wants to develop,they have to maintain the staff,and the work values of such millennial generation directly influence the corporate efficiency as well as the staff stability.Because of this,more and more scholars and employers have begun to pay attention to the work values of the millennial generation and conducted wider and deeper analyses.By aggregating relevant studies and theories by forerunners on Millennial generation's work values and their performance,together with applying proof,this paper analyzes the work value of the millennial generation in Vietnam and its impact on the performance.This paper first elaborates the context and objectives of research,summarizes various studies on millennial generation and their work value,performance and then express the author's personal viewpoint.The paper also does analysis and aggregation to bring out definition of such terms as millennial generation,work value,work performance,etc and uses demographic variables method to prove the effects.Based on the above analyzed theories,this paper builds up the framework to survey and use the hypothesis testing and statistics to do quantitative analysis.The work value in this paper is studied in five aspects in accordance with Maslow's hierarchy of needs,including Self-actualization,Esteem,Love/Belonging,Safety and Physiological.Together with the survey data of gender,age,marriage status,education,position,working period,work nature and other aspects of the employers,this paper conducts the correlation and regression analyses to relate the work value to the employee performance.In the meantime,this paper studies on the work value of millennial generation in Vietnam and its impact on performance,as an empirical study supplementing the existing theories.This paper also supports that different aspects of work value directly affect the work performance.The work value of millennial generation in Vietnam can be divided into 5 descending levels,from Safety,Self-actualization,Phisiological,Esteem and Love/Belonging.The author figures out that only by improving the elements affecting job satisfaction can the employers help their employees comfortable with the work and only by suitable incentives can the employers improve the productivity.As for the corporate management,it is necessary to be based on the current situation of labor force to adjust the management scheme,plan and apply the incentives as well as set up criteria assessing the performance objectively,encourage the promotion and focus on creating a corporate culture.
