A Comparative Research On International Competitiveness And The Upgrading Path Of IP-industry Between China And America

In the global economic environment of competition,the protection and utilization of intellectual property rights to the steady and enhance the competitiveness of international trade has an increasingly important significance.The economic power had driven by opportunity of the blue ocean market and low-cost resource in the past,has also been replaced by the intellectual capital and most of the knowledge-based capital needs through a certain form of intellectual property outside and applied to the production,circulation,trade practices,to achieve the value of creation.As a result,intellectual property-intensive industries are also highlighting its vital position in the global trade value chain.This paper mainly includes three parts,the first part is the analysis of the world's intellectual property-intensive industries:beginning with the development of the world manufacturing industry strategic environment,the thesis analyzes China's intellectual property-intensive industries when facing the challenges and opportunities of industry 4.0 and uses social networks to build industry trade flow graph;the second part is the Sino-US intellectual property-intensive industry competition and complementarity research:the cross-sectional data of property-intensive industries are quantified as competitive index and complementarity indicators to explore the international competitiveness of intellectual property-intensive industries between China and the United States;the third part is an empirical study on the upgrading paths of the Sino-US intellectual property-intensive industries:comparing the industrial environment of Chins and US,with the help of product space theory and competitiveness index,this thesis studies the choice of China's intellectual property-intensive industrial upgrading path and aims to form the relevant effective industry development proposals.Through researching the empirical analysis of world trade data,has drawn some conclusions:firstly,competition of worldwide IP-intensive industries are mainly concentrated among a few countries,and the country who lie the more central position who will face the more furious competition,China and US have become the leading countries;secondly,as the two sides focus on IP-intensive industries,competition within the industry will continue to strengthen,complementarity though still present,but China's exports to US shows the more quantitative superiority;thirdly,empirical studies show that China's export basket of intellectual property-intensive industries have occupied the quantitative superiority,but lacked quality advantages,the existing elements resources mostly allocated to keep the product revealed comparative advantage,industrial upgrading paths isn't obvious and there are two opposite power to develop the industry.Whereas the development of the intellectual property-intensive industries in the United States started earlier,with rich intellectual resources,although the export share is threatened,already accumulated endowment in intellectual property-intensive industries makes the United States adhere to follow comparative advantage industrial upgrading path.
