Research On Promotion Of "One Kulak" Corn In The Northwest Territories

"Rich peasant NO.1" maize is the latest high-yield, high-quality corn hybrids which was cultivated by Gansu Agricultural University and Gansu Rich High-tech Seed Co. Ltd. The "Rich peasant NO.1" maize has strong lodging resistance, high temperature resistant, barren resistance and other characteristics, especially be suitable for late-maturing area. Compared with the traditional corn, "Rich peasant NO.1" maize has short growing period to save time and effort.Combined with corn research status both at home and abroad, this study analyzed the current natural situation and social environment of the northwest cultivation, in terms of the necessity and feasibility of "Rich peasant NO.1" maize" extension in Gansu province, as well as providing management basis for the local agricultural technology and management department. Finally, through analyzing the benefits of "Rich peasant NO.1" maize and comparing it with the others in detail, this paper will provide important theoretical reference value for maize research.Gansu province is the important national ecological security barrier with varieties of types of natural and complex climate conditions, as well as sufficient sunlight are especially suitable for planting the "Rich peasant NO.1" maize whose characteristics include strong lodging resistance, drought and barren resistance. As a result, on the basis of imitating the development experience of other regions, cultivating the "Rich peasant NO.1" maize and it's highly processed products can obtain economic benefits of scale in Gansu province.There are some problems on corn production, such as backward infrastructure, poor ability to resist risk of cultivation bases, less advanced equipments of enterprise, difficult management of cultivation bases, lacking of technological innovation and so on. Therefore, it is important to solve the problem of corn production base. Firstly, improve the quality of corns to strengthen the regulation of production. Secondly, strengthen the construction of corn production bases. Thirdly, make research institutes play a role in technology. Fourthly, improve the technology of seed production and increase income. In addition, insist on implementation of contract to maintain the commercial interests.By contrast, the benefits of corn-planting are much higher than wheat-planting, vegetables-planting and other crops. Corn-planting will produce various benefits like ecological benefits, economic benefits, social benefits and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to popularize " Rich peasant NO.1" in northwest areas, so as to develop agriculture.
