Under the multiple backgrounds of economic globalization, information network, the rapid flow of the elements within the region deepening the link between urban agglomeration and their outside areas. It further promotes the social and economic development of urban agglomeration and the evolution of spatial organization. But the rational and orderly space organization play an important role in efficiency improvement.Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration,Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration have the highest level of urbanization in china, but what kind of relationship exists between their spatial organization and space efficiency. Therefore, based on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, this paper takes how to find problems and solve problems as the guide.Based on the theory of urban group optimal scale, spatial interaction theory,Sustainable development concept, the paper analyzes the effect of spatial organization on efficiency of urban agglomeration, and then put forward some policy suggestions for spatial organization optimization of urban agglomeration.By combing the scholars’ literature in recent years, the paper found that most of the studies on urban agglomeration spatial organization are concentrated in the urban agglomeration scale and the spatial evolution of urban agglomeration, and it lack of empirical analysis on the spatial efficiency of urban agglomeration.By combing the literature and the relevant theories, this paper argues that the spatial organization of urban agglomeration will inevitably affect the spatial efficiency of urban agglomeration. The spatial efficiency is caused by the spatial organization characteristics of urban agglomerations. The formation of spatial organization and the analysis of spatial efficiency all involve the flow, agglomeration and integration of the elements. The spatial efficiency is the result of the flow of the factor resources in the urban agglomeration. In view of this, this paper takes three major urban agglomerations in China as the object of study, and validates the relationship between spatial organization and urban agglomeration spatial efficiency through empirical analysis.Secondly, the status and characteristics of urban agglomeration are the foundation of spatial efficiency. In order to comprehensively and systematically understand it,this paper based on the definition of spatial organization, studies the spatial organization ofurban agglomeration from three aspects: the size, structure and economic connection degree of urban agglomeration. The study found that the population of Yangtze River Delta is the largest;the population density of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is the largest; The population size of urban agglomerations has shown an upward trend in the past 20 years, and the population density showed a trend of decreasing first and then rising. In terms of spatial structure of urban agglomeration, all the three urban agglomerations show a circle-like structure. The center of the Pearl River Delta is closest to 1,and the spatial structure is the best. Its high-level cities do not have strong monopolization and the development of small and medium-sized cities is better. The economic connection degree and the first degree of the Pearl River Delta are larger than those of the other two urban agglomerations, indicating that the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration has strong spatial interaction, and the first city has stronger radiation capacity. Then, the article evaluates the overall spatial efficiency of China’s three major urban agglomerations from 1995 to 2014,the results show that the spatial efficiency of Pearl River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is higher than that of Yangtze River Delta. In this paper, the hypotheses of this paper are presented according to the fitting graphs of spatial efficiency and the indices of spatial organization of urban agglomerations. Finally, the paper constructs an empirical test model based on Cobb-Douglas production function and uses the empirical analysis to test it.Then it draws the relevant conclusions according to the empirical results. The results show that the population size, population density and spatial economic linkages of the three major urban agglomerations in China have been continuously improved, and the spatial structure of the circle-type has been continuously strengthened. There is an inverted "U" relationship between the population size and the spatial efficiency. The population density has a negative effect on the spatial efficiency of the urban agglomeration. The center degree and first degree have positive effects on the spatial efficiency of urban agglomeration. And the effects are dependent on changes in the size of the urban agglomeration. It is obvious when the urban agglomeration is small, but the positive and negative effects will be weakened with the enlargement of the agglomeration scale. The enhancement of economic ties tends to promote the efficiency of urban agglomeration.Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions for spatial organization optimization of urban agglomeration.
