With the rapid economic and social development,people have an ever-increasing demand for aquatic products.With the aquatic farming area expanding,people have increasing requirements for the quality of aquatic products.With the rapid development of the fishery industry,events involving the safety of aquatic products have taken place more frequently than before,attracting attention of the public,media and government(Yang Xianle,et al,2013).Firstly,environment pollution are caused by agricultural,industrial and living activities.The extensive use of antibiotics and hormones and even some prohibited drugs by farmers in the farming activities to seek higher interest results in the lack of effective assurance for aquatic quality and safety,thus threatening people's health.Secondly,chloromycetin and malachite green residues are frequently detected from aquatic products and their processed products supplied to foreign countries.Many places in China have detected prohibited fish drugs and fish drug residues which exceed the permissible limits,resulting in the unmarketability or destruction of a large quantity of aquatic products,in which case farmers have suffer significant losses.These events have caused serious effect on the development of the aquatic farming industry and damaged consumers' interest Finally,China's legal system,administrative system and aquatic product quality and safety traceability system in respect of aquatic farming haven't been well established,causing the lack of effective assurance of aquatic quality.This paper sorted out issues which may affect aquatic quality and safety caused by farming environment pollution,unreasonableness of farming patterns,misuse of fish drugs and insufficiency of governmental support and control through on-site investigation,inspection of references and case analysis,has a careful analysis on the factors,and proposes some countermeasures addressing current issues such as defining responsibilities of regulatory authorities,strengthening water pollution control,improving the aquatic farming technologies and establishing aquatic farming service systems.The paper has a profound significance on the innovative aquatic farming management,the improvement of aquatic product quality and safety management,the guarantee of food safety,the protection of people's health and the promotion of sustainable development of aquatic farming and the enhancement of people's quality of life.
