Research On Optimization For Function Of Small Towns Based On The Changes Of Relationship Between Small Towns And Villages

In Chinese rapid urbanization process, the relationship between small towns and villagess have undergone tremendous changes in spatial distribution, economic development and service system. In the meantime, the connotation of small towns' function has been changed. Small town become an increasingly important node in the healthy development of relationship between small towns and villages under the background of the New-type Urbanization. In the past few decades, as the small towns paid more attention on urban orientated development and rural area's life-style changed, small towns failed to play the leading role in rural development, resulting in more problems generated by urban and rural dualistic division. Based on the above background, this paper carries out relevant research on the changes of relationship between small towns and villages and optimization for function of small town.The main content of this paper is divided into four parts:The first part summarizes the development of relationship between small towns and villages since reform and opening, analyzes the changes, related problem and trends in the spatial distribution, economic development and public services. The thesis suggests that the relationship between small towns and villages is gradually get rid of internal correspondence relationship and tend to externalize;The second part analyzes the basic function of small towns and summarizes the main factors that influce the positioning and conversion of small towns' function, particularly under the affection of external environment, such as the changes in reginal environmental condition, macroeconomic policies of small towns and villages, along with the application and development of new technologies. Small towns have made the pluralistic transition in modern argricutural era from simplified position as markets and communities in trational agricultural era;The third part focus on Hubei Province, analyzing, comparing and sorting out the basic characteristic features of relationship between small towns and villages in different areas. Combining wih the requirements of New-type Urbanization and zoning characteristic of small towns and villages in Hubei Province, the study analyzes the new function connotation of small towns by cases corresponding 3 different types of relationship between small towns and villages in different areas which are metropolitan influence region, agricultural region in Jianghan Plain and underdeveloped mountainous region.The fourth part proposes optimization strategies on positioning small towns' function and development path according to different areas and relationship types of small towns and villages in Hubei Province based on the analysis of the first three parts.The thesis research the new positioning and function of small towns to promote the development of small towns and villages by analyzing its intiative and passive effect in the relationship change in the framework of relationship between small towns and villages' development law and characteristic classification. In the meatime, the thesis proposes feasible strategy on optimizing function for small towns according to different type of relationship between small towns and villages, so as to the changes and characteristics of different relationships in regional economic development in Hubei Province under the Newtype Urbanization. The research provides multu-dimensional ideas in dealing with liberating the small towns and villages development and promoting the reginal relationship between urban and rural areas.
