For modern China,the subject of the overseas Chinese newspapers cannot be ignored.Compared with the coastal areas,Harbin has a relatively late appearance and a relatively small number of foreign newspapers.The foreign newspapers in Harbin's history are mainly dominated by the newspapers set up by Japan and Russia.In all foreign newspapers in Harbin,the far eastern newspaper,capital contribution by the Russian government,founded in 1906 on March 14 and closed on March 1,1921 is the first chinese-language newspapers in Harbin.At the time that the overseas Chinese newspapers just appeared in Harbin,it has the largest circulation and the widest influence among the newspapers.The Far Eastern newspaper,as a very small number of newspapers published in the Northeast in the early twentieth Century,provided a window for the Harbin people to know the world,and provided a way for various cultures to enter Harbin.The Far East newspaper recorded the social features of Harbin at that time and reflected the conflict and blending of multiculturalism.This article chooses to analysis the related texts in the Far Eastern newspaper from 1916 to 1921,in order to explore the characteristics and formation of Harbin's multiculturalism in early twentieth Century.And it hopes to provide reference for Harbin's tourism development and Sino Russian cultural exchanges.
