Research On The Relationship Between The Development Of Media Technology And The Change Of Discourse Power

The relationship between media technology and social change has always been an important issue in media study.With the rapid development of media technology,the rapid change of discourse right,whether it exists the relationship between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right,and what kind of relationship exists,are made up of the main content of this research.In this research,it starts with the study of media technology,the study of discourse right and the study of the relationship between the two,gives a summary review of the existed research contents.It is found that there is little research on the relationship between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right from the perspective of history.It provides the space for further research.In the concrete research,firstly,it longitudinally combs out the history of media technology represents by oral media,print media and electronic media.Meanwhile it defines the process of changing the nature of discourse right from the discourse power to coincidence of power and right then to regression of discourse right,and the process of changing the expression form of discourse right from interpersonal communication,organizational communication and mass communication to universal communication.On this basis,the research demonstrates the existence and inevitability of the intersection between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right.Thus,it is proved that it exists a relationship between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right indeed.Secondly,one by one starting from a one-way drive,two-way drive and multi drive,it points out that the error of one-way drive between the development of media technology and discourse right which separates interactional influence between the media technology existing and the expression consciousness of discourse right,and the defect of multi drive which omits other possible factors.So,concluding that there is a two-way drive relationship with the society as intermediary.That is to say,the place which the media technology and discourse right act jointly is the social system.Social system such as politics,economic,culture and other factors plays an intermediate role jointly.The media and expression motivation of discourse right have played an important role in communicating and promoting of the development of media technology and the change of discourse right.In the process of social development,along with the increase of human social interaction,the awareness and demand of discourse expression is also increasing.In order to meet the growing demand for discourse,people continue to improve the old media and create new media.When the new media technology has been applied to practical discourse expression,it will bring people a broader discourse expression motivation.This motivation acts on social environment in the reality,and will give rise to a newer media technology.Under the influence of this kind of interaction,the media technology develops continuously,and the discourse right of human being expands continuously,which makes the interaction between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right presents a spiral interactive relationship.Finally,in order to discuss the relationship between the development of media technology and the change of discourse right more specifically,this research starts with the method of modeling,and gives the concentric circle drive mode of development change of the two.This model suggests that,if using the circle to analyze the trend and relationship between the development of media technology and discourse right,the center represents one person or several persons,the radius of the circle represents the media which human can use,the perimeter of the circle represents discourse expression motivation of the entire society,the whole area of the circle represents discourse expression right of the society,the fan area of the circle represents discourse expression right of the individual,it is coupled to the process of the development of human society"tribe-leave tribe-return to tribe" proposed by Mcluhan,and the development of human discourse right will also experience a "equilibrium discourse-balance discourse-return to equilibrium discourse" three phases development process.
