With the rapid development of modern communication and the expansion of the construction scale of optical fiber communication lines, the failure of fiber optic cables increases and maintenance is difficult.Fiber optic cable communication line failure to the national economy and defense communications caused enormous economic losses,in today's large-scale,sophisticated cable networks, the traditional maintenance of optical fiber optic cable is far from satisfying today's efficient demand. Therefore, the optical fiber optic cable maintenance system comes into being, which provides protection for the normal operation of optical cable system. But now the maintenance system is not perfect enough,in the fault location and some auxiliary functions still exist insufficient.Because the cable laying line is complicated and has the surplus cable in many wells, the fault location can only be located by the OTDR,but the distance from the point of fault is not directly measured by the fault point. This design based on C/S architecture system, combined with GIS system in Baidu map to mark the fault point of optical cables, can be more intuitive and efficient to solve the problem of fault location. The handheld terminals of the system have functions such as data acquisition,OTDR signal reception, fault point display, shortest path query and historical fault record. The service end realizes the logic processing, the arithmetic realization, the database operation, and constructs the optical fiber information database to preserve the optical cable information, used in the Backstage data analysis. The test results show that the system can effectively improve the efficiency of the cable maintenance, and realize the accurate positioning of the fault point and the auxiliary function of communication with OTDR equipment. The system test results meet the design requirements.
