Border Guard is not only a comprehensive monthly Mongolian magazine published openly and sponsored by the Political Department of Inner Mongolia Military Region,but also the first magazine in Mongol since the foundation of new China.The magazine,with the history of 60 years,started publication in Wulanhot in 1951,under the name Firend of Cavalry.The magazine has experienced three historical stages,such as,Socialist Revolution and Construction,Cultural Revolution,and the New Era,with particularly distinctive features of the times.This paper,focusing on the magazine Border Guard,employing the theory of communication and analytical method,has made a study of its origin,status quo,version,content classification,media value,historical value and developing trends.This paper is composed of following parts:introduction,chapter Ⅰ,chapter Ⅱ,chapter Ⅲ,chapter Ⅳ and conclusion.The introduction outlines the reasons to select the subject,the present situation,research significance,content and scope of the topic and research methods.Chapter Ⅰ introduces the material selection,layout,purpose,design,publishing and releasing,readers of the magazine during the period of Socialist Revolution and Construction;Chapter Ⅱ presents the fact that the magazine was closed during the Cultural Revolution and its influences;Chapter Ⅲ discusses the general situation and characteristics of the magazine during the New Era;Chapter Ⅳpresents the historical value and developing trends,gives its features and value.In the conclusion,after summarizing the characteristics of different historical stages,an analysis has been made on its nature,purpose,ideas,successes and failures as well as some personal opinions on the magazine are proposed.
