LLL night vision equipment has been widely used in military and civil fields at home and abroad.In the process of developing and testing the LLL imaging system,LLL visual simulation technology is usually used to test and evaluate the performance,which is highly efficient,economical,safe and not limited by time.Therefore,the performance simulation technology of LLL night vision imaging system and the relative applications based on the visual simulation platform vieWTerra are studied in this paper.First of all,the paper gives the overall design scheme of performance simulation of LLL night vision imaging system.Under the guidance of it and based on direct and indirect viewing LLL night vision imaging system,the paper studies LLL imaging characteristics,including the night sky radiation,scenery reflection and atmosphere transmission characteristics.And the imaging effect theory models of LLL night vision system are established,which include signal response,spatial transmission and noise characteristics.After that,the LLL night vision performance simulation system is developed based on the visual simulation software platform vieWTerra and ThinkStation P700.Using the atmospheric effect calculation program PcModWin,the atmospheric transmission characteristic theory is validated,and the average transmittance is calculated,and then the atmospheric effect image according to the signal energy transfer formula is simulated.The main factors that affect the MTF of Gen ? + image intensifier are studied,and then the MTF blurring effect is added to simulate the LLL night vision system effect image.In order to improve the authenticity of simulated image,Gaussian and Poisson noise are separately added to simulate the sensor noise effect image.Based on these,the corresponding simulation images of LLL night vision system under different setting conditions are given and analyzed.At last,the paper proposes a LLL and infrared images fusion algorithm based on contrast pyramid transform and Otsu.Using the proposed method and the classical ways,the real LLL and infrared registration images and the synchronized simulation images are fused respectively,and then the fusion results are compared and analyzed from subjective and objective aspects,which validate the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed algorithm and the synchronized video sources.
