Infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system is to mainly meet the development of modern military night-vision technology, and how to evaluate the performance of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system is an important issue that needs to be resolved in the night-vision imaging fields. This paper evaluates the performance of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system from two aspects of target detection probability and color consistency, and proposes a quantitative method to calculate the detection probability of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system and one color consistency test system.In this paper, the factors that lead to image mismatch of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system are first analyzed, and a calculation method of image registration accuracy based on the edge and correlation coefficient is proposed. Secondly, in target detection probability, five factors are studied to define the target detection probability models of single imaging system, which are fused to obtain the initial target detection probability of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system by use rank K fusion algorithm. Then, the impact of fusion image quality on target detection probability is seriously studied to propose an evaluation method based on the edge and improved structural similarity, which is regard as an image quality factor and combined with the proposed registration accuracy together to correct the initial target detection probability, and obtain the final detection probability model of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system. In addition, in the aspect of color consistency, an infrared and LLL image fusion color consistency test system is designed. This system tests the video signal of different fusion circuit board and outputs its color difference in CIE-LAB color space. Also the test software is finished in the Lab VIEW development environment, which completes the serial control, video display and test functions. And this test software is used to finish the color consistency test of infrared and LLL fusion night-vision system, which verifies the effectiveness and practicality of the software.
