The purpose of this study is to visualize 3D printing process simulation, and research the printing path and the repair method of STL file defects, thereby to provide reliable foundations for the optimization of 3D printing process. The simulation software researches the following three aspects based on BFB file.(1) Design optimization of the simulation software: the simulation software is used to realize 3D printing process simulation and BFB file generation. It uses C++ and language to create the functional interface and the 3D printer model of the simulation software. It improves its software performance by optimizing the simulation interface and the function of man-machine in order to benefit users.(2) Research on the repair methods of STL file detects: STL file is the interface document of 3D printer, and it has important research significance for the optimization and simulation of 3D printing process. STL file is a mesh file resulted from triangulation,because every modeling application has precision deviation and triangulation algorithm is not complete, there are many defects in STL file. So, the main emphasis of our research summarizes the common characters of CAD model detects and STL filed detects to find quick and effective repair methods.(3) Research on the printing path: In practice FDM 3D printer is often affected by some factors, for example printing equipment, printing materials, time, path, performance and temperature. When there are too many vacant paths, the printing nozzle will open and close frequently, which affect the forming quality and reduce 3D printer life. According to polygon outline, we set printing parameters and choose different printing paths to generate BFB files on the basis of BFB file content format. At the same time, based on the digital model of BFB file, the parameters such as material consumption, time consumption are compared, so as to realize the analysis of different printing paths.
