Museum Theme Exhibition Narrative Research

The article from the perspective of structuralism narratology to understand the theme exhibition. The first part made a simple introduction of the main status of the topic selection at home and abroad. The second part of the museum narrative trend, display exhibition is the main way for museum of narrative. The display has developed into the theme exhibition which has a clear central idea through the display with the improving of narrative. The third part about theme exhibition narrative structure, there is an introduction of narrative structure for the theme exhibition from three aspects. The three structure can reduce the requirements of exhibition narrative step by step, but the relevant requirements for exhibits is improved. The fourth part of the narrative strategy, from six aspects to introduce the narrative techniques in the theme exhibition, those techniques can help improve the interesting and readability of theme exhibition. The fifth part of case analysis, the theme exhibition of "he. he--the way of harmony in Chinese traditional culture." which is displaying in Special exhibition hall on the third floor 11 exhibition hall in Nanjing museum from 2015.12.26 to 2016.4.20. The sixth conclusion, the selection of narrative structure decide the choice of narrative techniques in theme exhibition. Linear causal narrative, juxtaposition narrative and fractal narrative, those three narrative structure because of the weakening of causal relationship and the requirements of correlation between the exhibits are increasing. At the same time puts forward new requirements for the audience appreciation ability.
