Aging Knowledge Of Social Work Students And Research On Attitudes Towards The Elderly

With the development of an aging society,the demand for social workers in the elderly is getting larger and larger,and social work students as the main force in the field of social work in the future,their mastery of aging knowledge and their attitude to the elderly Will affect the development of social work for the elderly in the future.Through the general information survey of social work students,this study conducted a questionnaire survey of social work students on the KAOP and Aging Questionnaire,and collected feedback questionnaires from 298 social work students.The purpose of this study is to understand the aging knowledge of social work students and the general situation and relevance of the attitude of the elderly,and explore the differences and correlations of different background variables in aging knowledge and the attitude of the elderly.The research shows that social work students have a mild and positive attitude to old age,social work students have a poor grasp of aging knowledge,and the pass rate is low.Whether they have received education programs on aging knowledge such as social work for seniors,whether they have attended relevant courses in social work ethics or not,and the degree of their contact with the elderly have significantly affected the knowledge of aging students and attitudes towards the elderly.There is a positive correlation between the level of aging knowledge of social work students and the attitude toward old age.That is,the higher the level of knowledge of aging of social work students,the more positive attitude they have toward the elderly.In view of the above research,I propose from three aspects.At the social level,government support should be provided,relevant policies should be perfected,media propaganda should be stepped up,and awareness of aging should be enhanced.At the school level,emphasis should be put on aging curriculum education and internship opportunities.On the individual level,social work students should continuously improve their professional knowledge reserves and establish professional core value.
