Re-localization Of Street Space In The Context Of Urban Renewal

Street is the basic element of the city,because it is the main path for people's walking and experiencing through the city.Currently in the era of globalization,the regional features of urban space are gradually disappearing.In the process of urbanization,the government relatively attaches great importance to the modernization and internationalization of city,but however few people will care about the regional or traditional features of the city.In the street planning,people focus on how to ease traffic pressure at the expense of the pleasant space of walking streets;People relatively values engineering technologies to transform rugged terrains,but however they ignore that the unique terrains are the foundation of urban space in personalities;People in the wave of globalization has introduced the western modes of urban planning,but however it has caused chaos in the general impressions of the city.Researching on regional cultures of the city,protecting the city's cultural personalities,creating the regional impressions of urban culture,and setting up the cultural spirit of the city,is beneficial to interpret the meaning of socialist culture and determine relationships between"I" and "otherness" in our country,and to better realize the "the Chinese dream";secondly,it has help to distinguish between" regionalization" and "chinization" or "nationalization",which will better enrich the connotations of the socialist cultural diversities;thirdly it will make for enhancing the functions of urban cultures,and improving the city cultures and spiritual beliefs.In addition,it will be conducive to improve vitality of the urban street and search for new stimulus in economic growth under the background of new eraThis thesis mainly is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction,including topic purpose,researching significances,researching status,theoretical basis,researching scope and related concepts,etc.;The second part introduces the renderings of regional characteristics of Chongqing traditional street space;The third part is about reasons why the of the regional characteristics of street space in Chongqing are vanishing;The fourth part discusses the strategies on regeneration of regional characteristics in street space.The fifth part,takes an example of Hongya hole in Chongqing to explain how to realize the fusion of old and new elements in the street space.
