With the progress of the era and the development of Primary School English Teaching,the humanity of Primary School English Teaching has been put more and more attention.It has been clearly pointed out that English curriculum in the compulsory education stage has the dual nature of being tool and delivering humanity according to(English curriculum standard of compulsory education,2011 Edition).Therefore,a study of the deficiency and return of the humanistic nature of English teaching in Primary School is considered as the research direction by the author.A theoretically research and literature review had been done and concept definition on primary school English curriculum,humanities,primary school teaching humanity had been distinguished.A careful reading of the English curriculum standard of compulsory education(2011 Edition)and the current Jiangsu elementary school English textbooks(Yilin edition "English" textbooks)which reflected the humanity analysis has been done by the author.Practically,the questionnaire,interview and classroom observation methods are used as the methodology to analyze the contemporary situation of humanity on English curriculum in primary schools which reflected reasons of lack of humanity included the linguistic knowledge in primary school English curriculum was excess,the evaluation of classroom teaching mode was simple,lack of humanistic quality for the teachers themselves,the primary school English classroom time was limited and teacher training related guidance was not enough.Finally,three aspects were indicated on the basis of practice proposed to enhance the humanities in primary school English Teaching:the renewal of teaching concept,the exploration on teaching method and the development on extracurricular activities.A detailed explanation on the strategy of exploration of classroom teaching was elaborated such as:the study of the existing English teaching materials;the creation of pleasant atmosphere in the classroom;the choice of appropriate teaching methods,abundant usage on the evaluation methods and organizational experience activities.
