In order to improve rural education quality and replenish rural English teachers,the reorientation of English teachers began in rural area in 2001.Most of those teachers are teachers of other majors,even school staff on other positions.Their professional development will have a direct impact on their teaching standards and in turn affect on the education quality of rural area.Primary school transferred English teachers has the same features as other teacher groups in the aspect of professional development,while it defers from other teacher groups due to the diversity in teaching surroundings,the position transitivity,and the transiency in its unique identity.To those pupils who learn English courses,learning English should start with language skills,language knowledge,emotional attitude,learning strategy and culture awareness.The late beginning,slow development and unfavorable conditions restrict the improvement of English education high quality.How to guarantee the better understanding,the wide vision,and the formation of cross cultural awareness of the students remains a heavy burden for those English teachers.It's critical to ameliorate teachers' professional development so as to improve education quality and learning consequence.So it is important for English transferred teachers to improve themselves constantly in order to meet the requirements of social development and curriculum standards.From the aspect of life details and daily status of English transferred teachers,this research mainly relies on two primary schools in rural area of our city,and takes two transferred English teachers with the similar background as the research subject.The first-hand data are obtained from site visits and interviews,which are arranged and summarized in order to analyze the difficulties English transferred teachers encounter in their professional development,so as to find out the factors that have effects on the professional development of primary school English transferred teachers.By analyzing the essence of education and teaching law behind those difficulties,I am trying my best to provide primary school English transferred teachers and teaching managers with effective countermeasures of their professional development,with the purpose of improving the professional development ability of primary school English transferred teachers.
