Australia is an immigrant country, which has a short span of more than 200 years, and changing from a primitive society with only 100 thousand indigenous people into one of the few developed countries in the world with more than 2000 million thousand people, and during this process, advanced education has played an important role. So the writer payed special attention to the development of higher vocational education in Australia. In the world history of higher vocational education,Australia's higher vocational education has a unique charm, its ability standard,training kit, as well as national framework system and so on are the labels of higher vocational education in Australia.This article mainly consists of four parts. The first part is introduction, and this part mainly introducedthe reason and significance of the research, and the literature review, research contents and methods, what's more this part concludes the definition of target and the theoretical basis, innovation and deficiency. The second, third and fourth parts are the there phases divided by the author, the auther divided the development of higher vocational education in Australia in 1945—2010 into three phases and respectively as the first chapter, the second chapter, the third chapter.Every phase inconclued roughly 20 years, and the dividing evidence is based on the replacement of the Party or the establishment ofthe important education.The first chapter is the incubation period, which mainly analyzes the development of Australia's higher professional education. In this period, such as education and history, political parties, and the economy these factors have led to the development of education. During this time, Pragmatism has become the mainstream,consequently, the vocational education developed rapidly, and the education dual-track system had formed. As a result, the higher professional education hatched.The second chapter is the creation and adjustment period, which mainly introducted the whole process and results of the creation and adjustment of education in detail, Over the past 20 years, we have created a new model of talent cultivation and established competence and promoted the popularization of education. Education also got a directional change, which changed from teaching orientation to training orientation, and it set the fundation and direction of the development for education in Australia.The third chapter is revolution and developed period, it is also the focus of this article. This chapter mainly introduced the factors and performances and characteristics of higher vocational education reform, and highlight the higher vocational education's characteristics and value in Australia. The national framework system, foreign students education, and the new apprenticeship system have gradually become the transformation's expression of Australian higher professional education. At this stage, the higher vocational education in Australia's market based or customer based, so vocational education and training has become more important, and this time is people-oriented and all-round to raise funds, what's more, at this stage , many features including the concept of life-long education, higher vocational education and the university of cohesion and high industry participation emerged. Australia's higher vocational education development do has a certain instructional significance to our country's.
