As an indispensable link in children’s growing up, parents undoubtedly plays an important role in the education.A good parental participant in education not only can make children get progress in academic performance, psychological and personality growth ,but gradually become an important force in the modern school reform.Family and school should have close cooperation in same goal.For various of realistic factors,the quality of parental involvement have been affected.This study selected some parents from grade 1-6 in Q elementary school in nanjing as the research object,and use the self-made questionnaires on the basis of the parent participation pattern of the reference Epstein theory. With a method of observation and interview ,it from two angles of attitude and behavior of parental participant founds that parents’ attitude and behavior is significantly correlated, different level participation behavior,father absence, lower the enthusiasm of participation in school management, lack of effective communication and perceptual differences on the effect of participation perception between parent and teacher,.Based on Biological Ecosystem Theory, Effect on the Superposition Area Theory,Motivation Expectancy Theory, this research focus on the current situation and influencing factors of the parental participant of the elementary school .The subjective and objective factors affecting parental involvement are mainly the following:parents social and economic status, family structure, parents communication concept and attitude, education expectation, self-efficacy, observe of education, parent-child relationship, child’s grades and academic performance. In which parents socioeconomic play a key role, and directly influence the role of parents cognitive,concept of communication, self-efficacy, the respect of kids in education .On the above conclusions, this research put forward the corresponding strategies and suggestions from three aspects, the micro, meso and macro, to improve parents to participate actively in school education and put the home and school together.
