Cooperation between families and schools is an important link to achieve high quality school education and good family education,and an important element to achieve effective education.The cooperative interaction between family and school is an important manifestation of parents' active participation in education.Parental involvement in school education(referred to as parental involvement)has been receiving more and more attention from all walks of life.Parents actively participate in school education,provide support for school education,and contribute to family education.This is not only conducive to the development of family education and school education,but also to the healthy development of children.Therefore,parents need to be more involved in school education,and form a joint force with schools and teachers to make students receive different educational influences from families and schools.From the development history of Parental involvement in developed Europe and America countries,parents have extended from school and family to the community in the space of participation.Parental involvement developed form low-level family counseling to high-level school management.In recent years,with the improvement of the degree of social democratization in China,parents attach importance to their children's education and the emergence of rights awareness,and parental involvement has shown a development trend of comprehensive and high-level participation.In the current cooperation between home and school,effective suggestions and strategies should be proposed for specific common problems,encourage parents to participate in school education in a more comprehensive and high-level manner,reduce conflicts between parents and teachers in the process of participation,and jointly promote the development of students.This paper is guided by the theory of theory of Overlapping Spheres of Influence,from the microscopic perspective,it studies the types and levels of behaviors and their influencing factors of Parental involvement in school education.The paper state the different types and levels of specific behaviors involved in the process of Parental involvement in school education,and analyze the differences in the types and behaviors of Parental involvement in school education,the influencing factors of specific behavior types and levels of Parental involvement in school education,and finally propose reflections and advices to promote parents' more comprehensive and high-level participation in school education.The author takes the parents of Shenzhen X Elementary School as the survey respondent,mainly adopts the questionnaire survey method and the interview method,analyzes the types and levels of behaviors of parents participating in school education,and discusses the influence of family,school and teacher related factors on it.The results show that:(1)The behavior of parents participating in school education is lower than the willingness to participate.Most parents have high willingness to participate,but the actual participation behavior is lower than their willlingness;(2)The types and levels of Parental involvement in school education are in the middle and low-level.Parental participation is mostly low-level family counseling participation and middle-level support and learning-type participation,but less intermediate-level teaching-assisted participation and high-level management-type participation;(3)Different family backgrounds Parents and student backgrounds have significant differences in the types and levels of their participation behavior,including different student grades,genders,academic achievements,and different parents qualifications,occupations as well as different family structure,etc.;(4)Through influencing factors analysis of parental involvement types and behaviors shows that school and teacher factors have a more comprehensive impact on the types and levels of parental involvement.Parents' emphasis on education and attention has the greatest impact on family counseling participation,while the school's democratization and Flexible scheduling of time factors,teacher respect for parental involvement,and invitational factors for teaching-assisted participation and Managed participation has a greater impact than orther factors.Therefore,it is necessary to take the school and teacher factors into consideration to improve the types and levels of parental involvement,so that parents can participate in school education more comprehensively and at a higher level.First,the education authority should clarify the responsibility of parents to participate in school education.The education authorities will carry out the formulation and publicity of the Parental involvement in the school education responsibility policy,so that the schools and teachers will have relevant attention and awareness.Second,the school provides democratic opportunities and pathways for parents to participate in school education,including providing a campus atmosphere and hardware facilities that welcome parents to participate in school education,flexible arrangements for parental participation in school education,and establishment of relevant institutional organizations.Finally,teachers guide parents to comprehensive and high-level participation in school education.Teachers guide parents to participate in school education,and parents can participate in school education more actively and at a higher level.
