In recent years,with the continuous improvement of the mobile communication network environment and the further popularization of smart phones,the number of Internet users in China is increasing.Overview of various applications,the use rate of instant messaging software topped the list,network instant messaging is becoming more and more popular.Through the network instant communication,people not only maintain the existing interpersonal relationships,but also establish and develop new relationships.For college students,relying on the network to maintain and establish interpersonal relationships has become an indispensable part of their daily lives.At present,many scholars have conducted qualitative research on the phenomenon of network interpersonal dependency,but empirical research is not enough.This paper is an empirical study,which based on the theory of "self in the mirror" and the motivation theory in interpersonal communication.1000 College students in Dalian,Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai and other places are chosen to be the research objects.Questionnaire survey is chosen as the major research method.This reaserch focuses on the characteristics of College Students' network interpersonal dependency,and explores the influence of interpersonal relationship and social motivation on network interpersonal dependency.In addition,in order to strength the depth of this research,reasercher selects "severe dependency" and "mild dependency" groups,and explore the differences of this two groups.Based on the empirical data,we also analysis the reasons of this phenomenon,and puts forward some preventive measures.The results of the study showed that college students' internet interpersonal relationship dependency have significant differences in many dimensions.Realistic interpersonal relationship and network social motivation have significant effects on the internet interpersonal relationship dependency of College students.
