| With the acceleration of the professional development of teachers in our country,recently, teacher education has been confronted with higher demanding. The studies on student teachers’ (or pre-service teachers’) professional identity could help us learn more about these group of people and contribute to improve the mode of teacher education, then enhance the professional development of teachers to support our country’s educational career. This paper focuses on the undergraduate student teachers as well as Master of Education. It is mainly about the theoretical construction, the investigation and analysis of the current situation of student teachers’ professional identity. The last part of the paper is about the corresponding solutions to improve the student teachers’ professional identity.The whole study can be divided into the following three sections:Section Ⅰ: The introduction part first comes up with the definition of student teacher in this study. Then it shows the background and the purpose of the study. The literature review of the international and domestic studies is included in this section as well as a brief introduction of the work plan of the study. Chapter Ⅰ is about the key concepts and the theoretical basis. It focuses on the definition of the significant concepts and the introduction of the theoretical basis respectively.Section Ⅱ: A status investigation about the student teachers’ professional identity.Chapter Ⅱ is mainly about the analysis of the research framework of student teachers’professional identity, which indicates that student teachers’ professional identity includes a range of factors: the teachers’ professional identity of value, status, nature,quality and emotion. Then it elaborates the study methods such as questionnaire survey and the interview investigation as well as the details of those investigations.Chapter Ⅲ is about the analysis of the results of status investigation. This chapter firstly describes the general condition of the student teachers’ professional identity as well as the disparity between different types of student teachers. Then it shows the analysis of the influences and characteristics of student teachers’ professional identity.Section Ⅲ: This section puts forward the solutions and advice to improve student teachers’ professional identity according to the results of the current situation investigation as blew: (1) The country as well as the society should devote to the teachers’ professional development and the promotion of teachers’ social status. (2)Teacher education institutions should improve the quality and the construction of teacher education, and enhance the corporation between primary and middle schools and themselves. (3) Student teachers themselves should set up their own educational belief and endeavor to promote their professional knowledge and skills. At last, the introspection part reviews the whole study and points out the possibilities of the future study. |
