Along with the socio-economic and urban development, labor migration has become increasingly frequent. Due to the household registration, education and other social security system and other restrictions, children who cannot follow the migrant parents to live together and learn, thus forming a special group--left-behind children.Up to now, the Chinese under the age of 16 was 9.02 million the number of children left in rural areas, left-behind children is critical.In this paper, M community in Nanjing primary school grade 3-6 of left-behind children as the main object, through questionnaires, visits to schools and communities,and interviews with children, parents and guardians, investigation into the living conditions of children, learning and mental health. According to the current status of left-behind children in the community, the authors summarized the problem of left-behind children. Life issues including: routine irregular diet, illness to lack of proper care, physical security risks; learning problems including: unsupervised learning, no coaching, motivation to be correct; psychological problems including: the introvert eccentric, social communication disorder, behavior, etc.In view of the above issues of left-behind children, this paper analyzes the reason.Life is composed of guardian custody improperly, traditional concepts of strong and weak awareness of safety learning problems are caused by family education lack of school education and social education gap; psychological problems is the family emotional lack of atmosphere, poor neglected mental health education in schools and communities.From the professional point of view, select 9 left-behind children as clients, and comprehensive assessment of the client's needs, designed two sets of work programmes.One is using the case method, for the left-behind children, parents and guardians to provide supports and services; the second is the use of methods of work of the Panel,set up a panel of left-behind children, increased work of the group. Through the intervention of casework and group work, enhance the sense of responsibility and ability to communicate with parents and guardians, and improves the children's self-confidence and interpersonal skills, so as to promote the stable development of left-behind children and families.
