Teaching depends on certain knowledge,the teacher's behavior is largely dominated by the teacher's knowledge.Pedagogical content knowledge is the core of the teacher's knowledge,it not only tells teachers they should "teach what",but also tells them "how to teach",that is to say teachers how to transfer knowledge to students in a acceptable manner.In this paper,the writer applied Magnusson's PCK model to physical experiment teaching in high school,and the research starts from four aspects,which are knowledge of curricula,knowledge of students'understanding of science,knowledge of teaching strategies and knowledge of assessment.The author introduced the background and purpose of this research in the front part of the paper,and stated correlation theories used to analyze results.In the first place,the author carried out a questionnaire survey to learn about physics teachers' PCK in physical demonstrative experiment teaching.The respondents are physics teachers that are on job.The survey results show physics teachers have fine curriculum knowledge,specifically,physics teachers can clear and definite teaching objectives,but knowledge of the physics subject needs to be perfected.Knowledge of students,understanding of science performs similarly with knowledge of teaching strategies,but the two aspects are all worse than knowledge of curricula.Knowledge of assessment has a poor performance as well because of the dated evaluation methods.Teachers evaluate students mainly by their grades.The author carried out a case study aimed at a veteran physics teacher from a certain high school in Yangzhou with the methods of classroom observation and interview,analyzing his PCK in physical demonstrative experiment teaching.The study found that physics teachers' PCK in physical demonstrative experiment teaching possesses following characteristics:(1)They have abundant subject experience,lay emphasis on physical knowledge learning,but educational goals they set are uneven;(2)Students,knowledge lays particular stress on physics contents,and abilities and methods of experiment training is overlooked;(3)They can improve the contents of physical experiment teaching,and basic teaching strategies are owned;(4)The assessment contents and methods are single.Based on the characteristics of physics teachers' pedagogical content knowledge in physical demonstrative experiment teaching and the formation of the law,the author put forward some recommendations which help develop physics teachers' PCK in physical experiment teaching:(1)Teachers should possess positive and pursuant beliefs;(2)Teachers ought to continue to learn the knowledge of physics experiments and improve the structure of teachers' knowledge;(3)They ought to experience teaching practice,observation and rethink to enrich PCK in students;(4)Teachers should use the teaching method of problem driven in order to add students' degree of involvement;(5)Schools and regions need to organize more competitions and activities about physical experiment teaching;(6)Strengthen the training of normal students in demonstrative experiment skills.The last part of the paper is a summary about this research,the author reflected on deficiencies of the article prospected later research work.
