This article uses Primary School S in Beijing and Primary School K in London to compare the development of training objectives and curriculum design of their dance modules. After analyzing the influencing factors and educational characteristics behind the two school's dance courses,it is believed the main factors that affect the speed and quality of primary school dance education popularization are unified or decentralized education systems, the education concept centered around the teacher or children centered and popular or professional dance education system.“To obtain understanding of oneself from understanding others is the most valuable lesson that comparative education can provide”.SaysBelvedi,a well-known comparative educator in Comparative Law in Education.Through comparative analysis, the author believes at present the popularization education of dance in Beijing has good systems and education environment. The further optimization of dance education in China needs to learn from and absorb the experience of foreign education, but also to retain our existing advantages and strengths, and to take the course of combination of Professional and Educational dance. We must first conceptualize the Chinese dance education well and seek further understanding in quality-oriented dance education methodologies.Through investigation of Beijing and London's dance curriculum structures, and the teaching practices of teachers within the lower primary school grades, the author further defines that a Quality-oriented dance education should be conceptualized as combining a universal concept of dance education with professional standards of teaching practices using a Midway Model. This is namely by creating, performing and appreciating the artistic characters of dance education, aesthetic education and cultural education to promote the students in developing a comprehensive accomplishment of art and humanities”.The author based the above theoretical considerations on actual cases of the dance curriculums of lower grade of primary schools,in order to provide a useful reference to aid development of dance education in China.
