Shanghai city middle school geography curriculum standards clearly put forward the middle school geography curriculum tend to change the heavy knowledge light weight method,conclusion light process,should pay more attention to the students' learning experience,guide students to actively participate in the geography learning to find problems,collect information,and actively explore,the gradual formation and development of geographical learning ability.Mind mapping is a kind of thinking tool used to store,organize,optimize and output information.The structure of the mind mapping is from the center to the periphery.At the same time,the mind map graphic form,to stimulate students' interest in learning geography in junior high school,promote the students to think actively,construct between the geographical elements of the relationship,improve students' learning efficiency,cultivate students' comprehensive thinking ability.According to the research results of modern education theory and related scientific theory,through literature review,questionnaire survey,interviews and other research methods,on the mind map related theories and introduced,and Shanghai Education version of the sixth grade the first semester "world geography" published as an example,the application of mind map in regional geography teaching in junior high school in the form of case analysis.The research results can provide an effective knowledge management tool,tool of thinking and learning methods for junior high school geography teachers and students,to stimulate students' interest in learning,improve learning efficiency,and then extended to other subjects and courses for students to lay the foundation for lifelong learning.The main results were as follows:(1)successfully in regional geography teaching in junior high school into the mind map,not only enrich the junior middle school geography teaching methods,but also provides an effective way of learning for students.(2)through interviews,case analysis and other means to reveal the introduction of mind map teaching method in junior high school geography teaching,not only helps to improve the teaching quality of teachers,improve the teaching of geography,but also greatly stimulate the learning interest of the students,cultivate good habits of students' autonomous learning,to further enhance the students' comprehensive quality.(3)using mind mapping software i MindMap and Mind Manager to make the map of geographic thinking,promote the integration of moderninformation technology and geography teaching.Mind map teaching is a new teaching method,and its great value and potential need to be continuously explored and improved.
