Mr.Lv was the master of linguistics,whose research results are fruitful and admirable.At the same time,he was also an illustrious expert in Chinese language education,putting much emphasis on primary and secondary Chinese language education.His works provide a significant guidance for Chinese language education at that time and even now.He studied the teaching of reading from unique perspectives of linguistics,and his theories are enormously influential.This paper is mainly composed of contemporary factors,educational practice factors and scholarly factors.Mr.Lv was mainly affected by those three factors,and formed his reading teaching ideas,including appreciating language,cultivating students’ innovative thinking;enhancing language sense,improving students’ reading efficiency;adjusting the relationship,improving students’ literacy;choosing classics,enhancing students’ aesthetic ability;grasping the key to improve the overall quality of teachers.In other words,this article analyzes the connotation of Mr.Lv’s reading teaching thoughts from five perspectives: "taste","enlightenment","tune","appreciation" and "grasping".Mr.Lv had devoted himself to academic study,including reading teaching research,with an assiduous and rigorous attitude for more than 70 years.His thoughts about reading teaching expressed in refined words are still influential until now,pointing out the direction for the current language reading teaching.The specific revelation is as follows: paying attention to the quantity and quality of reading,promoting both knowledge and ability;specifying the reading content,improving the efficiency of reading teaching;reading ancient and modern classics,enhancing the humanistic connotation of students;pursuing science and art,strengthening teachers’ internal and external work.China’s education has carried out a series of curriculum reforms over the years,with increasingly fruitful language education thoughts,complete language education system,and mature language teaching theories.Mr.Lv’s ideas of reading teaching were put forward in a specific historical background.Reading teaching should be connected with the times instead of existing independently of the times.It should continue to advance with the changing of times.Therefore,adaptability and limitations should be noticed in the practical application of Mr.Lv’s reading teaching ideas.Mr.Lv is concerned with the development of Chinese language reading teaching with the penetrating perspective as an eminent linguist and the sense of responsibility as a Chinese language educator.His reading teaching ideas and the spirit of scholarship leaves a valuable academic wealth and spiritual legacy for future generations.From this point of view,it is necessary to rejuvenate Mr Lv’s ideas of reading teaching in teaching practice.
