Minority preparatory education is not only a special gradation of the higher education,but also is a important part of the higher education in China. For a long period, the party and the state attaches great importance to cultivate high-level professional talents of minority. Minority preparatory education is the way through lower score and admit the best candidates, for the minority students accepting one year or two years'preparatory education. The purpose is imp roving the minority students'basic knowledge and skills, in order to reach the level of university. More broadly, minority preparatory education can cultivate talents of minority, develop the education of minorities' areas, and ensure the educational equality of the resource starvation areas. In the microscopic view, minority students can gain more chance of accepting the high education, in order to improve comprehensive quality. After years of development, the minority preparatory education has become a systematic and perfect management mechanism. Improving the quality of minority preparatory education is the most important assignment.Recent years, minority preparatory education continually enlarge the proportion of recruiting student, lead to the students'mind becoming more and more complex. Many minority students can not adopt for the life style of college, lead to the falling of students'learning level. On the other hand, because of short time of minority preparatory education, many students do not pay attention to study. In the process, college counselors play a important role. The education and management of the college counselors is the important approach of completing the acculturation. But the counselors of minority preparatory education are not under full attention. Due to the minority particularity of students, the counselors will meet a lot of difficult which is different from the ordinary counselors. In this research explore the case of the school of ethnic education in Shaanxi Normal University, through interviewing five preparatory counselors, about acculturation, role definition, career planning and professional problems, in order to deeply analyze the difficulties of preparatory counselors. Then reveal the professional adaptation of minority preparatory counselors, for causing the attention of the government and universities. And accelerate the process of minority preparatory counselor professionalization. This research mainly include five aspects:the first chapter is mainly discussing the reasons of topic selection. Through studying of a large number of literature, including minority particularity education and college counselors. Then analysis the current research status at home and abroad, define the concept of the involved in the research, and lay a foundation for later research.The second chapter mainly define the concept of the involved in the research, and confirm the theoretical basis. Make the acculturation and the theory of role as the theoretical basis of this research, from the perspective of the acculturation to study the minority students, and analysis the students' feature. Lay the foundation for the research.The third chapter mainly discuss the feature of the minority preparatory education. Then summarize the development of the minority preparatory education. Study the minority preparatory counselors' feature and importance in combination with the feature of the minority preparatory education and the students, to explore the functions and status of the minority preparatory counselors.The fourth chapter mainly interview the five counselors, about career choice, acculturation, career planning and professional problems. Studying the work experience of three counselors, to find the commonness and individuality problems. Through the research found that, five counselors have an simple understanding of minority preparatory education before they begin to engage in this job. The two counselors come from Xinjiang among them, thought it was easy to understand the minority students because of they came from the minority areas too. But it is not the case, they also need to experience the acculturation. Due to the identity of five counselors are different, they have different factors to plan their career. But the same is, all of them want to change their job. This is the reason of the counselors' team is unstable.The fifth chapter mainly conclusion the professional problems of five counselors, with the work experience of them. And we found that:it is short of focus on the minority preparatory counselors, the government and college do not realize the essential of minority preparatory education. All sectors of society do not realize preparatory counselors have difference with ordinary counselors. The preparatory counselors have undertake significant security responsibility. It is short of cooperation with superior departments.The sixth chapter mainly base on analyzing the the professional problems of five counselors, give the thinking and advice.First, we should confirmed the important value of minority preparatory counselors, it is very important to the minority students for studying. In the current context of college counselor team construction in our country, we should strengthen the importance of minority preparatory counselors, and accelerate the process of professional construction of preparatory counselors. It is important to set up corresponding preparatory counselors selection and training mechanism. And we should establish a mechanism of the linkage and classification management, to provide support for the long-term development of preparatory counselors.
