What autonomous learning means is to study and learn by the learners themselves independently, actively, and consciously. During the process of autonomous learning, the learners are in the dominant position and responsible for their own learning. They can set their learning goals, decide the learning materials, select learning methods and strategies, and monitor the learning process all by themselves. As a result, the significance of this research is to cultivate the students' ability of autonomous learning in order to make the learners survive and develop in a better way in the future under the circumstance of the modern society filled with knowledge and technology, which is the embodiment of education for all-round development and the urgent requirement of accomplishing the comprehensive and lifetime development of learners.During the teaching practice in Dulangkou Junior high school, the author did do some deep research about the'autonomous learning model'there and the school itself within half of a year. The researcher did some specific practical exploration about the results to find out the real condition of the students'autonomous learning ability in art classes by doing field research. The research is based on the practical condition in DuLangkou Junior high school to explore and obtain some enlightenment out of the research results, which hopes to provide some useful references for those junior schools which want to carry out the autonomous learning in art classes.The research includes three aspects below:About the first part, the author mainly states the background, purpose,and significance of the theme and analyze the research status at home and abroad which include the concept of the autonomous learning and some relative theoretical study.About the second part, there are the current situation of the autonomous learning as well as the autonomous learning in art classes in DuLangkou Junior high school. Besides, there is a school-based curriculum of certain unit that is designed in terms of the students in this school. And in this special curriculum, there are two different self-study models being applied. One is'semi-open autonomous learning model'which is instructed by teachers sometimes, while the other is'full-open autonomous learning model'without the instruction of teachers. The object of the research is the students of the Seventh Grade, and the forms of the research include interviews, observation, and tests. The author put this research into practice in order to learn about the learning process and results of students when they are having the art classes and do some comparative analysis of the data at the end.About the third part, according to the comparative analysis of the two different autonomous learning models and the'testing form of learning efficacy', the observation and record of class, and the evaluation of teachers after listening in classes, the conclusions of the research come out as following:although the advantages of the 'full-open autonomous learning model'are obvious, the features of art learning classes still require teachers to get involved in instructing students and giving proper guidance, explanation, and demonstration during the learning process, which proves that the 'semi-open autonomous learning model'is a better teaching model for students to fully develop themselves and actively take part in the learning process, which in turn will facilitate the enforcement of three-dimensional objects.However, there still exists some problems which need to be completed in the future practical studies and researches due to the limited experience of the author and the lack of equipment and time in some special occasions.
