The higher education of China has already entered the age of popularization in a certain way.The graduate education is the top level of the high education system.The expanding scale of education not only improved the overall level of the higher education,but also supplied a large number of high-level talents for the society,and enhanced our comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness.But,the expanding scale of educationalso brings series of problems, the quality of the graduate students have decreased. As the essential characteristic of the higher education, scientific research ability becomes the primary training goal of the higher education and the key indicator of quality of postgraduate training.It is an important mission for the postgraduate education to cultivate scientific research abilities of graduate student.Post-graduate tutor is the key people of the training process.To improve the students 'ability of scientific research, we need make some concrete and constructive proposals from the perspective of tutor.The research studies the status quo of thescientific research abilities of graduate student, utilizing the means of literature-analyzing, interview, questionnaire and statistics-analyzing.Through the investigationand the analysis result, we can find some problems: the relationship between teachers and students is not harmonious or even tense,thedirective behaviors are inefficient, and the efficiency of teaching is still to be improved.The causes are: big shushing slant, busy administrative affairs, a weak sense ofprofessional responsibility, guidance model needs to be improved, the concept of heavy research and light teaching needs to be changed.The countermeasures for the scientific research ability training are: rebuild the spirit of professional responsibilityand improve the professional ethics, pay much attention to teaching and improve the quality of teaching, optimize the model of guidance and improve guidance effectiveness, improve and implement the selection and evaluation mechanism.
