The Interactive Research On The Evolution Of Volleyball Competition Rules And The Development Of Skills And Tactics

Volleyball has developed from an entertaining game into a competitive Olympic Game. Its development demonstrates that when old rules and regulations no longer fits the needs for development, it has to be modified and reformed by adopting new ones. On one hand, the constant modification and reform of its rules and regulations keep invigorating the game and enriching it with new skills and statics. On the other hand, the constant enrichment leads to constant modification and reform of its rules and regulations. Their interaction can both develop and suppress each other. Analyzing such relationship can not only help modify and reform rules and regulations but also benefit the development of skills and statics of volleyball.Adopting documentary analysis, system analysis, expert interview, logical induction, this paper brings comprehensive analysis on each modification and reform of the rules and regulations of volleyball game and the development of skills and statics of the game by studying the history and future tendency of the their development and exploring the interactions in between them.1. The progress of modifying the rules and regulations of volleyball is the progress of perfecting it. We can indentify from the history of the development of its rules three phases,namely the unifying and perfecting phase(1947-1964), reforming phase(1965-1984),developing phase(1985-now).2. This paper demonstrates that the modification and reform occurred in response to the problems emerged in volleyball’s development. It is found that each modification has made very significant positive influence and brought new orientation for training and gaming, thusly resulted into the progress of skills and statics under the restriction of rules and regulations.3. The modification and reform encouraged players to defense and achieve better balance between attack and defense. The innovation of skills and statics are the main power that promotes volleyball while the modification and reform of rules and regulations made the innovation flourish.4. The reform of rules made the game more wonderful and suspensive and at the same time enabled the game to be more commercial.5. Volleyball players have limits but the development of volleyball skills and statics do not.This paper finds that only when we keep making more innovations and understand and utilize the rules and regulations better, can we reoccupy the first place in the world.
