Before that, hawk-eye system had already successfully used in cricket, rugby, fencing, gymnastics, golf, snooker, tennis, badminton and so on.Using the Hawk-eye system in volleyball competitions, it can help referees to make more accurate judgments, ensure the accuracy and fairness of the competition, and maintain the legal rights of the teams; It can avoid arguments and negative emotions due to the referees’unfair judgments, let the athletes eliminate concerns, release the pressure, perform better and fully demonstrate their athletic ability in the games; It can help athletes to find their problems in time, and take attention to the details of technical gestures; It can improve the excitement, and help the spectators and fans understanding the referees’ judgments better, and satisfied with the competition more.This research using the methods of documentary, observation, statistic, comparison, interview and so on, choosing the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship 2014 top six teams’(American, China, Brazil, Italy, Dominican, Russian) 10 games from the third phase and the Chinese team’s 8 games from the second phase as the research object. Firstly, introduce the rules of Hawk-eye system used in the competition, and combine the datum of using the system, know that the top six country teams totally use the challenge system 42times in the third phase, effective challenge 36 times, illegal challenges 6 times; Success rate for 25%, failure rate for 75%; ball in or out for 61.9%, faulty antennae or net contact by a player for 19.05%, contact of a player’s feet with the end line for 2.38%, ball contact with the antennae for 2.38%. And analysis the times, types, effective ratio and success rate of the challenge.Secondly, analysis the affects the hawk-eye system brings to volleyball’s future. Lastly, summarize the problems of using Hawk-eye system in volleyball competition, such as:increasing the expense of referee’s training; adding the referee’s pressure; affect the fluency of the game; lacking off commercial value; the equipment cost lots of money; causing a strong dependency, and put forward the following suggestions:1.Referees should learn more.2.
