Explore The Way I Create With The Example Of Richter's Paintings

This paper tries to explore the basic historical development of painting by taking use of photos,and exploring the ways of using photographs in the works of contemporary artists to explore my creative ideas.In this paper,the unique work style of Gerhard Richter,a contemporary German artist,is emphasized to analyze his paintings to guide my creative methods.The main content of the paper is about how Gerhard Richter looks at photos as a mass media during his work and how he brings the authenticity of photos into his paintings as well as the characteristics of the times expressed in his works.Richter recorded an era with his photo paintings,which are called "image of the times" by the curator,Uwe M Schneider.Richter's understanding of ideology,along with the calm and concealed expressions of his views about things are deeply inspiring the author.Furthermore,Richter's understanding of the relationship between photos and paintings also provides a broader space for contemporary painting creations and offers the author more creative thoughts.
