The Relationship Between The Future Orientation Of Middle School Students And Multi-domain Risk-taking Behavior: The Mediating Role Of Coping Styles

Risk taking is defined as a way to balance potential negative outcomes(losses)and perceived positive outcomes(benefits).The young people's risk-taking behavior involves four areas of security,morality,entertainment and society in addition to the economic field.Represent the future and hope of the youth has been affected by the object of behavior risk takers are favored,because young people are risk-taking period,and their risk-taking behavior will bring important influence on the development of themselves and the whole society.Research in our country in the adolescent risk-taking behavior as a whole or a single to explore the little relation and difference between adolescent risk-taking behaviors in different areas is lacking.Therefore,it is necessary to study the risk behaviors of middle school students in many fields.The future orientation is the individual's ability to anticipate,think and plan for the future life,and to give their personal meaning.Middle school students are in the stage of the formation of values,and the formation of a higher degree.Future orientation has an important role in their psychological and social adaptation and good development.At present,the middle school students in China are faced with a great deal of study pressure,and the study is almost the only duty and the content of their whole life.It has been found that the future orientation is negatively correlated with smoking,substance abuse,and cannabis use.Other studies have shown that adolescents' time perspective can affect coping styles,and coping styles can also affect substance abuse.Although researchers have focused on the relationship between Western time perspective,coping style and substance abuse among junior high school,but almost never mind to explore clear future orientation,coping style and safety risk,moral risk,entertainment and social adventure behavior of these different areas and their influence on different fields of risk-taking behavior.In this study,two middle school students were selected to explore the impact of future orientation on risk behaviors in different fields and the mediating role of coping styles.In this study,the future orientation questionnaire,the middle school students coping style questionnaire,and the youth multi field risk behavior questionnaire were used as the measurement tools:(1)The future orientation of middle school students overall level is higher;the frequency to deal with the problem of the use of medium frequency point of emotional coping;social risk behavior score the highest,followed by entertainment,adventure,and moral security risk.(2)The future orientation of middle school students and to the point of emotional problems and the two coping styles were positively correlated,negatively correlated with these three areas of security,moral and entertainment adventure;was negatively related to these three areas of middle school students to deal with the problem of safety,ethics,and entertainment risk-taking behavior.Positively related to these four areas to emotional coping and safety,ethics,entertainment and social risks;there was a significant positive correlation between students' risk-taking behavior in four areas.(3)Future orientation can effectively predict and to deal with the problem of the point of emotional coping;future orientation can negatively predict the safety risk,moral risk and risk-taking behavior to deal with the problem of entertainment;can negatively predict safety risk,moral risk and entertainment adventure,to predict the direction of emotional coping instead.(4)The influence of future orientation and coping style on the risk behaviors of middle school students.To deal with the problem of mediating the future relationship between the orientation and the safety risk,moral risk and social risk,pointing to the relationship between emotional coping partially mediated the future orientation and security risk,moral risk and social risk,the relationship between the two kinds of coping styles are not the future orientation and social intermediary risk-taking.
