A Comparative Study Of Children's Music Education Between Satiss Coleman And Chen Heqin

Sarts Coleman (1878-1961 ),who is an influential and contagious children' music educator of Texas . Chen Heqin (1892 - 1982) is a renowned modern Chinese child psychologist and early childhood educator of Zhejiang, Shangyu in China, In the first half of the twentieth Century, they have made great achievements and contributions in the field of children' music education, which had an impact on the development of human history. Though they live in the society with different historical and cultural background of China and the west, the study found that there is a lot of commonality between them,so there is a basis for comparative research.This paper tries to find some enlightenment for the children' music education in China by analyzing and understanding the thought and practice of the two educators.The main contents of this paper are as follows: On the basis of introducing the background of Sarts Coleman and Chen Heqin 's life and educational activities, this paper makes a comparative study of their music education thoughts, the way of teaching, curriculum and social influence,and makes some enlightening Thinking.
