The Social Science Paper "Analysis Of The Jurchen Area In The Map Of The Ming Dynasty" Chinese-English Translation Practice Report

“An Analysis of the Jurchen Region in the Maps of the Ming Dynasty” by focusing on the Jurchen regions and following a time sequence of the currently existing Ming maps,attempts to explore the maps compilation of Jurchen regions in the Ming Dynasty with the purpose of expounding the Ming’s understanding of the Jurchens.Based on the article,this thesis mainly analyses the translation method of ancient map names and the implicit logic relations.The translation of ancient map names are determined by actual situation.The translator makes attempt to grasp the background material.According to the specific audience,the translator carefully adopts different methods,namely,literal translation or interpretation translation to make the text accurate.As for implicit logic connection of sentence in translation,some skills are discussed.The translator needs to sort out the relationship and appropriately rewrite the sentence pattern.
