Wu State's inscribed bamboo slips at Changsha Zoumalou has been uncovered more than 20 years,but has been published nearly 10 years ago.The inscribed household tax bamboo slips are representative in the first and second sections,which were published in 2003 and 2007 respectively,totally more than 347,000 words,reflecting the original language of the Medieval of China,are very rich corpus.At present,the theory of systematic study of Wu State's bamboo slips is rare in the field of Chinese language and philology.To study the verbs about Wu State's inscribed household tax bamboo slips,except for the parts of introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into three chapters to complete the following work by using the theory of Chinese language history.Chapter one,the classification and interpretation of the monosyllable-verbs about Wu State's inscribed household tax bamboo slips.At present,there is no achievement of analysis these verbs in academia.Before the comprehensive study of these verbs,we take two classification methods to classify them.The fist method,According to the classification criteria of Chinese lexicology by Mr.Cheng Xiangqing and Mr.Zhou Jian,divide these verbs into monosyllable-verb and polysyllable-verb;The second method,according to the classification criteria based on verbal function by Lv Shuxiang and Liu Yuehua,divide monosyllable-verbs into three types: action verb,state verb and relationship verb.Then,interpret the monosyllables,use exegesis method and compare with the "Three Kingdoms annals ",to sort out the meaning of them.There are three conclusions: First,using column chart to classify these verbs,comprehensive statistics the number of the verbs of household tax bamboo slips,then sorted out 126 verbs,46 monosyllable-verbs,accounting for 37.1% of the total verbs;79 polysyllable-verbs,accounting for 62.9% of the total verbs.Second,most of the monosyllables have only one meaning.Chapter two,study on the polysyllable-verbs about Wu State's inscribed household tax bamboo slips.first of all,from the perspective of meaning,grammar and frequency to determine these polysyllable-verbs.Then,using the relationship between the morphemes constituting the compound words and grammatical structure,classify such verbs into partial type,joint type,dominated type,complementary type,narrative type,interlocking type and so on.Conclude that: Most of the polysyllables are two-tone verbs,there are 29 positive two-tone verb among them,is the most important category of polyphonic verbs about Wu's household tax bamboo slips;there are 25 joint type two-tone verb,the number of them is smaller then the positivetwo-tone verb.The word formation of the two-tone verbs of Wu's household tax bamboo slips are the focus of this chapter.By study on the word formation,concluded that: there is no single-morpheme word in the polyphonic verbs,all polyphonic verbs are compound words,which is the major feature of the polyphonic verbs.Chapter three,verbs Wu State's inscribed household tax bamboo slips supplement the Chinese Dictionary.Compare these verbs with the large Chinese reference book “the Chinese Dictionary”,get the conclusion: verbs about Wu's inscribed household tax bamboo slips add 30 new words for the Chinese Dictionary,add 5 new items,provide 24 earlier documents,supply 29 documents that enrich the Chinese Dictionary,these conclusions further confirms the rich corpus and research value of Wu's bamboo slips.
