PurposesXu Shuwei,a famous physician in Southern Song Dynasty, was later recognized as one of the five best SHANGHAN scholars in Song Dynasty. His<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>explaining the causes and pathogenesis of SHANGHAN diseases,as well as the diagnosis and treatments, have been published several times. There are still some problems with<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>,such as the time of the first publication, the different cataloging of the catalogs and the relationship with other SHANGHAN books in the same period.Through this research,we can make a deeper understanding of the spread and evolution of these two books, and provide the basis for modification of the relevant bibliography books and more in-depth studies.MethodsThis article clears the descriptions of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>in all catalog books, selects and compares the four editions of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>,that is,the edition of Yuan Dynasty kept in National Library of China, the edition of Liu Longtian's Qiao Shantang published in WanLi,the edition of CANGXIU book house that Liu Wanrong published, and the edition that Lu Xinyuan carved in the series of SHIWANJUANLOU volumes;the three versions of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>,namely, the edition of Yuan Dynasty kept in National Library, the edition of Qiao Shantang of Liu Longtian published in Wanli, and edition of the edition that Lu Xinyuan carved in the series of SHIWANJUANLOU volumes,to explore the problems such as the first publication time, the cataloging of related catalogs, the relationship with SHANGHAN books in the same period, and the characteristics of different versions.ResultsThe article is divided into three parts. The first chapter introduces the circulation of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>,and describes the basic situation of each selected version. The second chapter clears the records of these two books in directory books, then discuss the number of volumes of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>,the title of<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>,the publishing time of first edition, and the basement of the edition of CANGXIU book house that Liu Wanrong published. The third chapter focuses on contrasting editions of Ming Dynasty and edition of Yuan Dynasty kept in National Library of China, summarizes the characteristics of edition of Ming Dynasty in the layouts, texts, and contents.Conclusions(1)Most songs of Xu Shuwei's<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>are based on Zhu Gong's<HUORENSHU>,which is not directly based on the<SHANGHANLUN>.Most of the annotations are taken from<SHANGHANLUN>,<JINGUIYUHANJING>,<NEIJING>and so on.(2)The differences between the edition of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGEFAWEILUN>that Liu Longtian's Qiao Shantang published in Wan Li and the edition of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>carved in Yuan dynasty kept in National Library of China have not reached the level of "unrecognition",.There are large differences between the Catalogue and the Eighty-sixth songs "hypersomnia songs" in"SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE" part, and the section of "I thought it deeply" to the end of the article "On WENNUE Syndrome" in<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>part.(3)The printing blocks of<SHANGHANBAIZHNEGGEFAWEILUN>that Liu Longtian's Qiao Shantang carved in Wan Li is not new,but modified from the front printing blocks. And the<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGEFAWEILUN>that Liu Longtian's Qiaoshan Tang published in WanLi is similar to the edition of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>carved in Yuan dynasty kept in National Library of China.(4)The first issue of the<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>and the<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>was inconclusive, but there should be a version before the edition published in Yuan dynasty kept in National Library's,the edition published in Yuan kept in Jing Jia Tang, and the edition that Ming edition's according to.Whether this version is the edition of Song Dynasty still requires more materials.(5)The edition of<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>that Liu Wanrong's Cang Xiu book house of edition according to may not be the edition of Song.Whether it is according to<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>stored in the Nanjing Library still requires disclosure of the materials of Nanjing Library.(6)The<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>is a continuation of the<SHANGHANFAWEILUN>.It is not<YISHANGHANLUN>refered in the<ZHIZHAISHULUJIETI>,but they may be related in contents.(7)Except for Liu Longtian Qiao Shantang's edition published in WanLi,the existing<SHANGHANBAIZHENGGE>books have been recorded in five volumes since the Yuan Edition. As for whether the "three volumes" recorded in the early literature such as<ZHIZHAISHULUJIETI>is the mistake of "five volumes",more material verification is still required.
