Clinical Observation Of Arthroscopic External-in Technique For Repairing Meniscus Anterior Horn Injury

Purpose:To evaluate the method and clinical results of using outside-in technique to repair anterior horn tears in arthroscopic.Material and method:The study included 36 patients who underwent meniscal repair by the outside-in technique during September 2014 to May 2016 in Orthopaedic Hospital of Shenyang.Concurrent single bundle anterior cruciate ligaments reconstruction was performed with the auto hamstring tendon.Completed the Lysholm socres,the international knee documentation committee knee uation form(IKDC)subject scores,the visual analogue scale(VAS)and standard to evaluate the clinical healing condition of the meniscus by Barrett and single-leg-hop test at preoperation and postoperation.Results:1.All patients were followed up for 9 to 29 months with a mean of 19.1 months.2.According to Barrett standards,33 sides were healed(91.67%);3.After 9 months of follow-up,the injured side score of the single-leg-hop test was(136.67±17.45)cm,33 patients at normal symmetries of limbs;4.The preoperative Lysholm,IKDC and VAS scores were(63.72±9.81)points,(45.08±6.78)points and(5.19±0.98)points.The postoperative Lysholm,IKDC and VAS scores were(86.36±7.91)points,(89.61±4.83)points and(0.75±0.87)points.The differences between the preoperative and postoperative Lysholm,IKDC and VAS scores were statistically significant(P<0.05);5.Lysholm score was excellent and good in 91.7% patients.Conclusion:Arthroscopic meniscal anterior horn tears repair with the outside-in technique is a simple,safe and effective method,which has fewer complications,high strength,higher healing rate and does not need special operative instruments.
