Background:With the development of the pathology in recent years,Parkinson's disease(PD)is known as a long pathological process whose lesion is not limited to nigra,either start in nigra.The lesions of PD are extensive,thus the diversity of symptoms.Researchers have been trying to characterize the early symptoms of PD to make early diagnosis,which will be helpful to provide a timely treatment with PD patients as well as improve their prognosis.The Rigidity and bradykinesia-dominant Parkinson' s disease is a clinical pattern of PD,which is more difficult to early diagnose comparing with tremor-dominant PD.It has been proved that Traditional Chinese Medication can relieve the motor symptoms and non-moter symtopms,and change the brain functional network of PD.However,whether the brainnetwork of structure is releted to TCM syndromes is still unkown to us.Support Vector Machine(SVM)is a advanced method of supervised learning that can be used to solve some statistical problems with small samples and high dimensions.The purpose of our research is to distinguish the brain structure network of PD from the normal controls by method of SVC(classify)and SVR(regression),and to see if there are possible relations between the brain structure network and TCM syndromesObjectives:1.To distinguish the brain structure network of PD from the normal controls,offering a new technological supplement for precise diagnosis.2.To study the relevance between the three PD related scales of sydromes and the brainnetwork of structure.3.To see if there areinside physical features match with the PD TCM syndromes.Methods:Nine patients meeting our standard werecollected from all from department ofencephalopathy of Dongzhimen hospital,and were all treated byTraditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)-modified Peiyuan Jiejing decoction.And PD related symptom scales including TCM symptom of scales were gathered both before and after the treatment,as well as Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI).Then the MRI data were prograssed by FATCAT using three different modes including Deterministic tractography(DET),Mini-Probabilistic Tracking(MINIP)and Probabilistic Tracking(PROB).After that the SVC and SVR were used to distinguish the brain network of PD from the normal controls and toobserve the changes of the brain structure network of PD after the Traditional Chinese Medication.Conclusions:1.Patients with Rigidity and bradykinesia-dominant Parkinson' s disease have characteristic brainnet feature comparing with the health controls.The three PD sydrome scales(NMSS?UPDRS.TCM)are relevant to the brainnet structure of PD,which may be helpful to make precise diagnosis.2.The entorhinal cortex and basal ganglia,mainly putamen,play an important part in PD which match with our findings of PD structure network.3.The result of TCM sydrome scales has the characteristic connections of that of NMSS?UPDRS,as well as has its own features,which suggests there are inside physical features match with the PD TCM syndromes.
