Background:Since 2012 March,the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine,the Ministry of Commerce and 12 other government agencies jointly issued the "Opinions On Promoting the Development of the Service and Trade of Traditional Chinese Medicine".Since then,China has issued a series of policy to promote the development of TCM service and trade,indicating that the Traditional Chinese Medicine service and trade has been integrated the national strategy.Beijing,as the capital of China,is the region where TCM resources are most concentrated and technology most advanced.And private-funded institutions prevail as pioneers under the circumstance for its flexible management and ownership.It is of significant value for the development of international TCM service and trade to research the current status and problems of international TCM service trade in private medical institutes in Beijing,so current academic research is supplemented and relevant data is recorded.Purpose and Content:This paper intended to describe the international TCM service and trade carried out by private-funded medical institutes in Beijing,analyzed existing problems,provided support for the establishment and perfection of international TCM service and trade policies.Methodology:This paper mainly combined the methods of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.Through quantitative analysis,this paper analyzed the current situation of the international TCM service and trade of private-funded medical institutes in China,analyses their problems.Through qualitative analysis,this paper recorded interviews with known private-funded medical institutes to understand their experience and difficulties.Results:1 Medium and high end private medical institutes have both received foreign patients,but the total amount is small,and few of them intend to invest overseas.2 A few of the institutes explored has been practicing a rewarding model that is worth studying regarding receiving foreign guests,conducting training sessions and establishing overseas branches.Conclusions:Problems:1 The development of private medical institutions in China is very fast,but frequently changes.2 Private medical institutions lack of enthusiasm for TCM service.3 Private medical institutions lack of TCM service related personnel.4 The country lacks the legal construction of traditional Chinese medicine service trade5 The trade barriers in the service industry overseas are increasingly challenging.Suggestions:1 Complete relevant TCM service and trade policies.2 Government plays a regulatory role in Chinese medicine market.3 Increasing the support of TCM service of private Chinese medical institutions.4 Selection and utilization of talents for international service trade.5 Study on solutions to break trade barriers.6 Establish a statistics system of TCM service and trade.
