With the continuous development of the social economy, the living standards are constantly going up. At the same time people pay more attention to their health, especially for the children. It is expected that the health of children can be guaranteed and further improved by the medical services with higher efficiency and quality. This in return promotes the pediatric medical services towards a higher level with better quality and children-friendly. Recently the overall healthy condition of the children in our country is improved, however it comes along with many problems, for examples, the manpower in pediatrician is not enough, seeing a doctor is difficult for some people, the service quality differs in different districts, etc. Furthermore we are going into the era of "two children per family", the increase of children population largely increases the demanding of pediatric medical services. This demanding, together with high expectation from parents on the pediatric medical services, makes the service far away from the satisfaction. As a result the supply and demand relationship in pediatric medical services is out of balance. This is a serious issue that we should pay attention to. What is more, the facilities and the speed of growing of pediatric medical services differ in different districts. The facilities and the speed of growing in poor areas in the west region lag behind that in the east and central region of China. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the facilities and the speed of growing of pediatric medical services in western poor areas in China. We chose the pediatric medical services in E'shan country, which locates in the western poor areas in China, as the sample. The methodologies were the literature review, the on-spot study, the questionnaire investigations, etc. We studied the supply and demand relationship of pediatric medical services in detail in the following aspects:the quantity of supply, the quality of supply, the quantity of demand, and the expected quality of demand. The results show that firstly the supply of pediatric medical services in E'shan is insufficient, mainly reflects in the lack of quantity and quality of the services. Secondly the total demanding on the services is increasing, and the expectations from parents for the service quality is also getting higher. The above two points demonstrate that currently the supply of pediatric medical services in E'shan is not enough for the requirement from both parents and children. It should be seriously treated on the unbalanced relationship of supply and demand in the pediatric medical services in E'shan.Meanwhile, we studied the influencing factors that contribute to the unbalanced relationship of supply and demand in the pediatric medical services, such as the education and training of the pediatricians, the income of the pediatricians, the career motivation and self-recognition of the pediatricians, etc. We found the reasons that are responsible for the insufficient supply of the pediatric medical services:the average technical skill of pediatricians' decreases, the employee turnover rate is high, the organization is unreasonable, the funding support from the government is not enough. We also analyzed the impact of population policy, pediatric medical history, parents care on children health, on the development of pediatric medical service teams. Lastly we identified the responsibilities from the government, the supervising authorities, the hospital, the human resource team and other social organizations. Based on the responsibilities from different parties, we provided the solution and suggestions on the improvement on supply and demand relationship of pediatric medical services.
