Purpose:Taditional chinese medicine(TCM)basic tutorial in modern times has clearly pointed out that the fire of "Tonifying fire to supplement earth" is the kidney yang,but it still on the theory of the five elements theory guidance,and divided into the therapeutic method of originating from each other.Kidney yin and kidney yang is yin-yang relationship,there not be promoting and restricting.If the kidney yang be regard as the fire of the five elements,kidney yin as the water of the element.If we want to use the five elements theory to explain the relationship between water and fire,people would misundertand that kidney yin restricts the kidney yang.However,there be contradiction between yin-yang relatonship.So this subject collected and cleared up the review about the theory of“Tonifying fire to supplement earth",Heart fire,Spleen yang and kidney yang by the ancient and modern study of TCM and explored the connotation of fire,in order to provide theoretical support for clinical application.Methods:Collecting the medicine books that describes related content about“Tonifying fire to supplement earth" method.such as "Beiji Qianjin Yao Fang'',“Treatise on the spleen and stomach","Danxi's experiential therapy' and cases that use "Tonifying fire to supplement earth" method to clinical treatment.such as"Ninety cases history and Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Disease","Xue's medical records","Clinic Guidline of Medical Records".Analysising and arranging the common diseases and drugs for this treatment.Using the common diseases and drugs about "Tonifying fire to supplement earth" method.Taking“Tonifying fire to supplement earth","Decline of vital gate fire","Insufficiency of heart and spleen",“Tonifying the spleen and kidney”and so on as the key words.Searching the VIP,CNKI,Wan Fang retrieval software,and summarizing the relevant data.Results:1.Before Ming and qing dynasty,there are 26 treatment case from the angle of sovereignfire,17 from the angle of ministerial,20 from the angle of sovereignfire and ministerial,and the most concentrated in Jinyuan period.Drugs used in top 6 in order is Poria cocos(47 cases),yam(35 cases),atractylodes macrocephala(24 cases),ginseng(16 cases),cinnamon(14 cases),dried ginger(8 cases).The diseases be treated in top 3 in order is loose bowels(24 cases),diarrhea(13 cases),emesis(7 cases).2.There are 19 cases according sovereign fire thoery and 54 cases according ministerial fire thoery,16 cases according sovereign fire and ministerial fire thoery after the Ming dynasty and the qing dynasty,The drugs be used in top 3 in order is monkshood(63 cases),poria cocos(51 cases),Atractylodes macrocephala(49 cases),yam(45 cases),rehmannia glutinosa(41 cases),cinnamon(33 cases).The diseases be treated in top 3 in order is loose bowels(43 cases),diarrhea(23 cases),edema(11 cases),but the disease has been involved in the kidney-yang,such as impotence and spermatorrhea.3.In modern literature database retrieval to related with 2237 references,there are 751 cases related with sovereign fire,1348 cases related with ministerial fire,and 751 cases to treat the disease from the angle of sovereignfire,1348 cases to treat the disease from the angle of ministerial,138 cases to treat the disease from the angle of sovereignfire and ministerial.Drugs be used commonly in order is monkshood(987 cases),Poria cocos(842 cases),yam(795 cases),rehmannia glutinosa(684 cases),cinnamon(436 cases),tetradium ruticarpum(312 cases).The disease included loose bowels(402 cases),palpitation(337 cases),stomachach(235 cases),emesis(214 cases),edema(177 cases),anorexia(66 cases),impotence(41 cases),diarrhea(32 cases),arthralgia(19 cases),spermatorrhea(17 cases),regurgitation(8 cases).Conclusions:1.The Kidney fire and Kidney yin belong to the relationship of Yin and Yang,we can not definite the Kidney yang as the Kidney fire.2.In the context of the current literature,the doctor in Ming and qing dynasties more frequently defined the fire of "Tonifying fire to supplement earth"as the kidney yang,but the interpretation of the theoretical basis is very confusion,the interpretation of the theory of Yin and Yang and the five elements theory is not consistent,the five elements theory cannot explain "Tonifying fire to supplement earth",and the theoretical basis must be the Zangxiang theory.
