Objective: To observe the clinical effects of routine rehabilitation therapy combined with Balance training on knee proprioception after second degree injury of meniscus. Methods: Data in this research comes from the hospitalized patients with second degree injury of meniscus in rehabilitation department of Sichuan orthopedic hospital.According to random, single blind and contrast trials, the twenty-eight patients with second degree injury of meniscus are randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group with routine rehabilitation therapy combined with balance training, and the control group with single routine rehabilitation therapy. Before treatment there is no significant difference between the two groups in baseline information such as gender, age and course of disease. Using Special proprioception evaluation the improved Lysholm system and general project evaluation including VAS,quadriceps strength,ADL,the improved Lysholm system score,Berg Balancing points and difference of passive joint position sense at 60°.Related index measurement are proceeded at the 0 week and the fourth week of treatment respectively. Using t- test measurement indicators, observation overall score before and after treatment,Calculate the improvement rate, the adverse reaction was analyzed and evaluated. Results: 1.At the fourth week of treatment, Pain assessment of knee joint are obviously decreased in both treatment group and control group;and there is no difference between groups. 2.At the fourth week of treatment, quadriceps strength are obviously improved in both treatment group and control group; and there is no difference between groups. 3.At the fourth week of treatment, the improved Lysholm system points are obviously improved in both treatment group and control group; and there is no difference between groups. 4.At the fourth week of treatment, ADL score increases obviously in both groups; and there is no difference between groups.5.At the fourth week of treatment, Berg Balancing score increases obviously in both groups; and there is significant difference between groups. 6. At the fourth week of treatment, difference of passive joint position sense at 60° decreases obviously in both groups; and there is significant difference between groups. 7.In terms of comprehensive curative effect, the improvement rate is 92.86% in the treatment group and 85. 71% in the control group. Conclusion: The therapy of routine rehabilitation therapy combined with Balance training after second degree injury of meniscus helps more on knee proprioception than single routine rehabilitation therapy.
