Based On The Five Major Process Groups, An International Power Station EPC Project Management Practice

Power Plant project construction has a very important status and role for the national economy of each Country and the scientific and effective project management method is most important.As time goes on,more and more Chinese Electrical Power construction companies continue to execute the international Power Plant project.But due to the differences of the understanding of project management,cultural background,habits,and Language communication obstacles,some problems have been observed and occurred during the project execution.According to the instance and combining with American management knowledge used in an international Power Plant EPC project,this thesis will make the preliminary analysis and studies for the project management.The thesis consists of four parts: The first part introduces the background,the purpose and the significance of this research,and expounds the development and dynamic research of the similar research at home and abroad.The research methods and research contents also have been indicated.The second part is the definition of the related concepts of American project management and expounds five management processes for American management in detail.The analysis for the necessity and feasibility of the application the American management knowledge in the international Power Plant EPC project has also been included in this part.The third part introduces the application of American management knowledge in the implementation of the project in Saudi Arabia.The implementation of the project is divided into five process groups: Initiating,Planning,Executing,Monitoring & Controlling and Closing.The description and analysis of the implementation process of different stages have been mentioned in this part.The last part of this thesis is the prospect & conclusion,and summarizes this research with some improvement suggestions.
