One of the charms of the internal space of Chinese traditional gardens can be said to depend on its blurred and implicit beauty.Based on scale and spatial structure, the internal space of Chinese traditional gardens can be divided into the corner space, courtyard space, garden space, and the beauty of the implicitness largely lies on the intermediary space between them.I classified such space to be the boundary system in internal space of the Chinese traditional garden, including three gardening elements: corridors, walls and the rockeries. The boundary system to some degree can also be understood as the interface in the garden which has the thickness in space and they all have the characteristics of "grey space".From this point of view, they naturally have fuzziness and ambiguity of "grey space".Entering into the boundary system from pure space, you can feel the space change while enjoying the spiritual dialogue with the space which can`t be felt in "absolute space".Firstly, the dissertation introduces the history and the definition of the boundary system.Secondly the dissertation explores its fundamental reason of the physical features which is the shape aesthetics of the boundary system behind the perceptual phenomena. At last, the paper summarizes how the boundary system create the blurred and implicit beauty,in order to guide the modern landscape design in how to use the boundary system to create the beauty of artistic conception of space.
