Within pump and valve industries, casting purchasing basically focused on supplying mode of mass varieties and small batches. Due to complicated and various casting technique, casting delivery is with high rate of scraping, long lead time and unstable quality issues, which is the key problem that companies in pump and valve industries has to face to in always. Hence, in order to strengthen the competition ability of company entirely, how to shorten the lead time and control quality of casting become the serious problem to be solved out during the supply chain in the pump and valve industries.According to theory of supply chain management, this paper completely researches the problems of casting purchasing based on current situation of K Company. Firstly, it raises two key problems:long lead time and unstable quality of casting. Then it deeply analyzes the three kinds of root causes to above two key problems, which is short of completely proper strategy of casting and poor quick-response capability on customer's delivery and poor casting delivery status. All in all, according to above reasons and considering of features of pump and valve industries, this paper brings solution to improve the current situation.
