With the progress of globalization and continuous development of information technology, product life cycle kept shortened in recent decades. In order to obtain or maintain advantage in competition, companies have to expedite developing and launching new products to markets ahead of their competitors. Quality and efficiency in new product development becomes one of the key factors for a company who would expect to hold sustainable competiveness in marketplace. Company C is a manufacturing enterprise that mainly supplying suspension seats for global commercial vehicle market. For some reasons, Company C is facing a series of obstructions in recent years, due to weak market, fierce competition and slow pace in new product development.By using related theories and tools of project quality management, this article tries to run a research and analysis on current new-product-development process in Company C, and expects to discover problems existing in this process. In final, this article will try to give a solution to help Company C in improving its management capability and efficiency by restructuring project organization, improving new-product-development process, and applying quality management tools:i.e. QFD and FMEA. By this research, it is also expected to bring a reference approach of improving project quality management skill for Company C as well as similar enterprises. |
