The Application Study Of Lean Production In Car Window Film Workshop Of M Company

M company is a Chinese subsidiary of a world’s leading diversified company. It is know for its car window film products. But in recent years with the increasing competition in the market, pressure from production costs and production efficiency, in order to improve the competitiveness of products, lean production was introduced at M company.1In this paper, the problems of M company car window film workshop are found in the product process, site layout, production planning, standard work, field communication and 5S by using lean tools. By drawing the current value stream map and future value stream map, the process is optimized and lead time in each step is reduced, delivery time is shortened. By re-designing the package area, the logistics are improved smoothly, in-process inventory is reduced, product quality is improved. Together with the technical department team developed a pulling production based electronic production planning management system E-heijunka to improve production planning efficiency. By using ECRS tools, standard work is set up in rewinding process to reduce the cycle time per unit of output. The introduction of tier review meeting help management team to deal with daily problems quickly and task tracking, optimizing the efficiency of managers. Through full focus to improve and develop appropriate 5S standards to strengthen the implementation of 5S on-site, so that car film workshop become M’s benchmark 5S workshop. Through the implementation of lean production, car film workshop get the big benefit from it.Lean production applications achieved prominent results in M’s car window film workshop. There are many private and small and medium-sized enterprises in China’s manufacturing industry, also they meet some similar problems as M’s.So the implementation of lean improvement in other companies will also have a big effect and major role.
